Dr Sarwa has treated my husband for over 10 years and we couldn't be more thankful for her expertise in her field. She was the first doctor that really helped him with the pain and the uncontrolled movements. We have been to many doctors before who never helped him this much. She is very precise in her treatments along with being very professional, caring & compassionate. I don't know what we would do without her. She is a real gem for the VA!
If you need a really great doctor for neurology of movement disorders she's the top doctor to choose. You will be glad you did, we think she's the best doctor around.

Dr. Sarwar has been treating my husband for Parkinson's for 14 years and she consistently provides extraordinary, compassionate care. She always spends an entire hour each visit doing a very detailed physical assessment with questions about medication on/off periods, sleep/rest patterns, etc. She carefully makes medication changes and requests that she be updated on how he has responded. She provides extensive education about the disease, medications/side effects as well as coaches him on lifestyle habits (diet, exercise, pain control,, etc) that will benefit him. I truly believe my husband's disease progression has been slowed due to the outstanding care and oversight by Dr. Sarwar.

Dr. Has been my dr. for about three years.I am completely happy with her care, advice, treatment and recommendations for dealing with parkinson's. I am also glad that she is available for myself and the rest of the veteran community . I know that she is more than just a doctor ,but a researcher ,
a scientist and a leader in her field.Dr.Sarwar is my doctor but I also consider her as very helpful friend .I also like her approach to treatment as a partnership between Dr.and patients. I hope she will stay with the Va.Thank you again Dr.Sarwar may God always be with you.

I want to share with my fellow VA patients the exceptional physician we have serving us here in Houston! Dr. Sarwar has treated me at the VA for several years… it seems like 3 or 4. I always think of my trips to the VA to see her as “ visits” because she covers everything. But it is like telling it to my sister. Imagine getting a followup call from your doctor , on your cellphone to make sure a medication change was effective. It is sort of like “ house calls”… is this lady REAL?

Then sitting in the waiting room to see another doctor, reading all of the papers on Parkinsons Disease, amazingly interesting and thorough, and then seeing it was she who wrote this series of papers.

Once it came up , I asked her about how she came to be at the VA? She is so thorough, so concerned, so sincere. Seems she had once left the VA for private practice, but while pay was higher, the patient satisfaction was greater at the VA.

Folks, if you are lucky enough to draw Dr.Sarwar as your physician … don’t miss a “visit” or even come late. You will have missed time that cannot be replaced! A visit with her is like TIME IN A. BOTTLE, something worth having. I once told her I was so lucky to have such grouchy, ugly doctors for my multiple problems. Looking a bit hurt , she asked why I would say that. “Because if all of my doctors were like you, I might never want to get well!”
But wait… there are a. Lot of really fine doctors here. I just today told M D ANDERSON Cancer Center that I was going to entrust the VA with my Stage IV Renal cancer to the VA Oncology department, and that’s a life stakes decision, and I am good with it!
