We are delighted with our new kitchen bought from Schmidt Islington, designed by Olga Stratan. It is both beautiful and practical, has more storage and worktop than before while looking more spacious than before: see our before/ after pictures.
With Alan, the manager of Schmidt Islington, and Olga, it was "trust at first sight". After a meeting to write down our requirements, Olga was able to give us a good estimate of the cost and advised us on how to reduce them. She managed to lock in a discount so that we could take all our time to decide whether we wanted to go ahead or not and she came on site to take the precise measurements of our kitchen without asking for any downpayment.
Her detailed design was stunning from the first draft, respecting aesthetics and symmetry while following our requirements and optimising space. This was a challenge, since our kitchen area has a G shape with four corners. Nevertheless, she agreed to try a different drawing as we were trying to fit a base corner cabinet. After showing both to the family, we had to agree that Olga's original design was optimal and we finalised it with her.
Olga's talent not only lies in her designing skills but in her psychology too. From your wishes, she understands what you have in mind and gently convinces you of the best way to reach your desired result. She doesn't force you to the most expensive options but keeps quality and your satisfaction front of mind.
Alan and Olga helped us make choices all the way for appliances, worktop, tiles with their suppliers or others. They would tell us if they could match a good deal found on the internet or to go ahead with the deal. They could also point out if a deal was not as good as it looked because of import duties or else.
In a full kitchen refurbishment, you can be faced with unexpected problems but you can trust Alan and Olga to always find solutions to your advantage. Timings are honoured and prices are transparent.
The team of Schmidt Islington is small: you get to meet the other designers, who are also delightful and the whole team makes you feel at home. We recommend them without hesitation.
