I wanted to change career and get into Interior Design, despite having no previous experience in design, and I came across London Fields Design School. I was amazed by how many software you can learn in the Development course, with affordable tuition fees and in a reasonable amount of time, without having to study 4 or 5 years in a uni. Ben is a great mentor, who offers valuable feedback and continuous support, which along with the help of the teachers, you can create incredible projects in a short period of time. I even got my first client within the first 6 months, I enrolled in this course. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and it's also a great environment to meet new people and connect with them.

The London Fields Design School course is great for people wanting to get into a design career without going down the university route or for people looking for a career change.

The course is flexible which allows you to take classes both during the day and in the evening which I found particularly helpful.

Tutors are friendly and patient and also up to date with current design trends and practices. Regular one to one tutorial’s keeps students on a guided path throughout the course.

Since completing the course, I have been successful in getting internships with 2 different companies as well as a full-time position. I would recommend this course to anyone who is thinking about alternative or flexible education.

I've had the pleasure of doing the blended version [online and in-person] of the Designer Development Course at LFDS. And so far, the experience has been really insightful. Not only have I enhanced my skill sets as a designer, but I've also garnered confidence when it comes to showing my work, asking questions, interpreting and giving feedback, as well as entering competitions, and overcoming challenges.

The course units give a brilliant foundation into the multitude of design programs there are out there. Personally, I think that they are taught in a comprehensive and reviewable manner. At first, I was a bit overwhelmed with units and programs that were unfamiliar to me. But I eventually learned how to structure my timetable to better suit my learning style. Hence now I favour day classes for the programs I frequently use, and evening classes for the programs I need to spend more time on.

And as a bonus, the extra tutorials, mentoring sessions and peer interactions benefited me tremendously. For being surrounded by professionals, peers, staff, and mentors who are at different development stages of their careers, really encourages when an extra push is needed to work harder, practice more, an motivate oneself earnestly to improve as a designer.

I started at London Fields Design with a basic knowledge of some software and the ambition to follow a career in design. The school helped not only with the technical confidence across all relevant design tools and software but to also think like a commercial designer with a career path ahead. The knowledge and confidence I gained helped me get a place at University to study graphic design. The lecturers come from a wide range of commercial design backgrounds so all teaching and advice was grounded in the latest real world applications. I recommend LFDS to anyone serious about expanding their knowledge in design or to gain deeper experience to better select the design field they want to go into. London Fields Design school allowed me to explore different sides of design and help me get a place at university, being supportive and helpful through every step of the process. Since getting my place they have continued to stay in touch giving me a supportive community from across the design field.

The Design Development course is a fantastic way to learn and strengthen skills in the most in-demand design software with the help of creative industry professionals.

Ben offers valuable mentorship and support throughout the course in developing design skills and a portfolio of work. He aims to help students get work experience during the course - which is a great way to get inside the creative industry to learn even more. I took an internship in a company that specialises in bespoke kitchens, this experience later allowed me to apply the knowledge gained with the company into a project of my own.

Throughout the course, I also had an opportunity to work on a live project to create the conceptual design for the Boutique hotel in SE London.

Being a full-time mum, I was looking for a flexible way of learning. I have chosen to study online, which allows me to learn and work from home at my own pace and at the most suitable time. Even though my studying is remote, I still feel a part of the creative community with the constant support from the Design School staff.

Super highly recommended.
I've retaken the 3 day Vector course online and its been such a great experience, even tho I was worried because I thought that maybe I wouldn't be able to understand everything. Instead I've enjoyed it as much as the first one. Sami is extremely knowledgeable and patient, explaining step by step and answering all our questions kindly and showing great experience in his field.
If you are thinking about taking any course just give it a go, you won't regret! 🙂

Sam is an absolutely fantastic teacher. I learnt so much. The session was so rich and detailed. I am a total beginner and have never done any modelling before. But on this 3D printing course we went at a suitable pace for all of us participants. I would highly recommend

I've just done the beginner to intermediate course on Revit. It's a really well taught unit theres lots to learn in the 3 days so just got to keep practicing. Friendly staff, good computer hardware and a cool area full of small shops and restaurants. Really looking forward to going back to do my intermediate to advanced course
