My situation was not ideal for Laura in that I already had a partially furnished space and my house is a log home - somewhat out of the main stream. However, she gained enthusiasm and momentum as she guided me through the design phase. Laura's execution of our plan for my space was flawless. My family recently purchased a home in Raleigh and undertook a major remodel of the downstairs. We were already working with a general contractor; however, we were in desperate need of an interior designer to help solidify our design decisions, pick light fixtures, and assist with a bathroom design. Laura helped us select all our downstairs lighting and paint colors and she helped us design the coolest half bath ever! What a wonderful experience we had with Laura, Alya and the entire LK Design Team! For almost a year we had the pleasure of working with Laura. Her tremendous sense of style, guidance and dedication gave us the home of our dreams.
In 2023 we bought a brand new home in Cary. I brought very little from our previous home so I knew I needed a Designer with great vision and style. Laura exceeded that goal. From the initial consult to the delivery of the furniture, every encounter was professional and so much fun 🙂 Since I liked so many design styles, I was very indecisive on how to proceed. LK Design did an amazing job with refreshing the entire downstairs of our home. The whole experience from start to finish was laid back yet thorough and Laura was very receptive to our goals. She also had great ideas for us to consider that we would have never thought of on our own.

We had our kitchen, living room, downstairs kid/play area, mud room and breakfast area worked on. Laura and Alya personally helped with some of the work but also had awesome contractors to do the handy work. The contractors were also great to work with and took our input well to get the job done how we wanted.

LK Design put in all the effort and the whole process was seamless. They organized and communicated in great detail. We plan to build a custom home within the next few years and will want LK design to help us from start to finish because that's how amazing they are.

I cannot say enough about LK Design and the amazing Laura. I began working with LK Design in 2019 to design and furnish three rooms in my apartment. I met with several designers before deciding LK Design suited my needs, personality, and budget. My project wasn’t for a real/whole house, but Laura always made me feel like I was her most important client.

I was so pleased with my apartment design that I engaged LK Design to help me with my newly built townhouse in 2022. I was able to use 100% of the furniture, custom window treatments, and rugs from my apartment inside my new townhouse. The sofa sectional LK found for my apartment fits so well in my townhouse family room. I purchased the customizable sofa without ever sitting on it, and I love it. It’s modern, comfortable, durable, and easy to clean. It still looks brand new after 3+ years.

For my townhome, I wanted wall molding installed. I hired a molding installer, and the project wasn’t going well. Laura saved the day. She put me in contact with a contractor that installed the wall molding. The contractor got me on his schedule within two weeks of our first meeting. The contractor and his team were professional and respected my home during the install. Laura designed the trim around artwork I already owned. The wall molding is AMAZING and makes the artwork look museum quality. My home looks more finished and upscale now.

For my powder room, I wanted wallpaper installed. LK found a glamorous wallpaper design and arranged for a wallpaper installer to install it. I cannot get over how the wallpaper has transformed the room. Jaws drop when guest enter my powder room. The wallpaper is fabulous!!!

Laura is all about YOU making the final decisions. She chooses options that fit with your style, vision and budget. Then she presents those options for you to choose from or have her look for more options. Laura has gotten to know my taste, so she often knows which option I’m going to choose before I make my decision. Laura listened and paid close attention to my words (or lack of words), facial expressions, and body language during the entire process. She knew when I was unsure about my decisions and was very patient with me when I changed my mind about my choices. I changed my mind on custom window treatments during both of my project. Laura didn’t chastise me for being indecisive. She found more options and presented them to me. My custom window treatments transformed my apartment and townhouse from basic to lavish.

Other great qualities about Laura:
- Focused on function and not just looks. She wants to make your home functional and designed to your personal taste.
- All about re-use. She is more than willing to re-use items you already have.
- Great communicator. She kept me updated on every phase of the project.

I worked with Laura on a project of converting an unfinished 3rd floor attic into a stand-alone suite/studio with bathroom and closets. It was a long and rather expensive project and this was the first time I used a designer in my life. During the project I realized how important it was to have Laura on the team. It helped keep the project on budget and saved me from headaches. Laura understood my vision for the space, we had meetings with the general contractor to link the design with reality. We modified several time and as we went along. Laura created architectural drawings with precise measurements, bathroom layouts, furniture layouts, selected optimal lighting fixtures, tiles, trim, doors, floors, and various other features. She logged them into a shareable spreadsheet with pricing, quantities and links for purchase (that helped me to estimate and monitor the cost).

And also - very important aspect of the way Laura works - she took the lead. She managed me and the general contractor through the process - with persistence, with speed and high degree of organization. I will work with her again.

Being new to the area I took a chance (on a realtor’s recommendation) and hired Laura to manage the process of fabricating new custom drapes for our main bedroom as well as drapes for the canopy bed. Laura stayed on top of the process throughout and I so admired her work ethic that I ordered a sofa through her with a company I was not familiar with.
